The Balmoral School of Piping and Drumming has been a Pittsburgh institution since 1979.

We provide world-class instruction for bagpipers and drummers, both locally and in summer schools throughout the nation. We sponsor Pittsburgh’s annual Balmoral Classic Championships for outstanding young musicians, age 21 years and younger, as well as concerts featuring renowned performers of Celtic traditional music. The Pittsburgh-based band, Balmoral Pipes & Drums, is another project of the Balmoral School.

When you donate to us directly, or through Give Big Pittsburgh…

$25 will help to purchase office and school supplies.
$50 will help to fund the Balmoral School website.
$100 will fund a practice chanter for a student in need.
$250 will provide a student with 2.5 days of instruction at a summer school.
$500 will provide a 1-week scholarship for a deserving teenager.
$1,000 provides 1-week room, board and tuition for a top piper or drummer.
