Balmoral Pipes & Drums will perform at a Tartan Day event hosted by Saint Andrew’s Society of Pittsburgh. The event will be held on April 6th, 2024, from 10:00am-4:30pm, at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2999 Bethel Church Road, Bethel Park, PA.
Our band is scheduled to play on the Auditorium Stage from 10:15 to 11:00am, just after the welcome. There will also be be performances by Celtic music ensembles, pipers, Scottish dancers, and workshops on drumming, Scottish folklore, Celtic symbol drawing, as well as a kilt demonstration.
What is Tartan Day? On April 6, 1320 the Declaration of Arbroath was signed asserting Scotland’s sovereignty over England’s territorial claims. Tartan Day commemorates the signing of Scotland’s Declaration of Independence. This day is set aside every year by Scottish-Americans to reflect on and celebrate their heritage.
