An annual event held In Pittsburgh each Fall, featuring the US Junior Solo Bagpiping and Drumming Championships,
plus an Evening Concert with an Internationally recognized Celtic performance ensemble.

Our 2017 Classic Weekend Events
Now in its 11th year, the annual Balmoral Classic competition attracts the best young pipers & drummers to Pittsburgh to compete in the only junior solo bagpiping and drumming championship in the USA.
For the first time this year, in order to attract more young drummers to the pipe band world, Balmoral will add a competition for Novice Drummers to its schedule of Classic 2017 Events.
Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas in concert! Fraser's concert and recording career spans over 30 years, with a long list of awards, accolades, radio and TV credits, plus feature performances on top movie soundtracks (Last of the Mohicans, Titanic, etc.). In 2011, he was inducted into the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame. Haas, a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, is one of the most sought after cellists in traditional music. She's performed and recorded with a who's who of the fiddle world including Mark O'Connor, Natalie MacMaster, Irish supergroups Solas and Altan, and many more.
From 10am to noon, November 19, 2017, The Balmoral School will offer a free workshop for pipers on the Silver Medal tunes, with Dr. Jack Taylor of St. Andrews, Scotland. Dr. Taylor is a winner of the Braemar Gold Medal, the Gold Medal in Inverness, the Gillies Cup and the Silver Chanter. He is President of the Piobaireachd Society of Scotland and is a senior judge for Piobaireachd.
